We strive to partner with parents in equipping their children with knowledge, skills, and character to impact the world for Christ.
Vision Statement
To be a leading homeschool enrichment center recognized for academic excellence, spiritual growth, and a vibrant community where students thrive, develop a lifelong love for learning, and parents are valued partners in the journey.
Director's Welcome
Amanda Kan, Director
Amanda Kan holds a bachelor's degree in Christian Counseling from Johnson University and serves as the Children’s Ministry Director at North Point Christian Church. She brings a diverse background in education and family support, including experience teaching in a first-grade classroom at a Christian School, teaching daily living skills to teenagers who are blind, visually impaired, and those with various disabilities. She has also served as a family consultant at a substance abuse center for teens.
As a homeschooling working mom, she has a heart to support families as they nurture their children’s faith in God. Opening this homeschool resource center is an extension of that calling, a practical and prayerful way to serve and equip families on their journey.

Parent Responsibilities & Conduct
As partners in your child's education, we value your involvement and cooperation. We request all parents adhere to the following guidelines:
Expectations:
You are responsible for your child’s education; our classes are supplemental.
Supervise your child when they are not in class.
Drop off and pick up students on time.
All students must be registered for classes; siblings may not remain unsupervised.
Curriculum Exchange:
North Point has a small space dedicated to gently used curriculum. You are welcome to donate materials you no longer need, or feel free to take something home that might be helpful for your family. Please help keep the area neat and organized for everyone to enjoy.
Volunteering:
We value and encourage parent involvement in our program!
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Amanda Kan for more information. A background check is required for all volunteers and there is a $19 fee. Participation is completely optional, there is no pressure to volunteer!
Parent Spaces:
Designated parent spaces are available for parents to work or relax during class times. Please be respectful of these spaces and keep them tidy.
Class Attendance:
Parents may attend classes that their children are in as long as space allows. Classrooms have big windows so parents can peek in if it does not disturb the class.
Children under the age of 7 must have a parent present at the center, or arrange for another parent to be available to assist if needed young children may occasionally need help returning to class after a bathroom break or may require assistance during lunch, with art projects, or other activities throughout the day.
Coffee Station:
Coffee is available for parents with a $1 suggested donation.
Conduct:
Parents are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects Christian values and promotes a positive learning environment. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
Unique Abilities
Our Director, Amanda Kan, brings extensive experience working with children with unique needs. If your child has any specific needs that should be addressed, please inform the director so we can provide the appropriate support.
When necessary, accommodations will be discussed and arranged on a case-by-case basis. One option to consider is hiring a teacher’s aide, or a parent volunteer. However, this level of support may not be needed in all situations.

Discipline Policy
Behavior Expectations and Correction Policy
We use the Connected Families Framework to guide how we support our students. We aim to help students feel safe, loved, capable, and responsible as they learn and grow. If a student does not respond to repeated coaching and their behavior disrupts the learning environment, we may ask that the student not return to the program. If a student is dismissed and is not using Step Up for Students funding, a refund will be issued for any remaining classes. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to create a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment for all students. Please see this link for more information about the Connected Families Framework.
